The Family Roots of Stony Run Greenhouse
Scott’s journey into the world of greenhouse farming began with a simple desire to create something that would bring his family together. This dream blossomed into what is now known as Stony Run Greenhouse, which focuses on growing lettuce and a variety of herbs.
Scott’s favorite crop is romaine lettuce. His favorite way to enjoy it? A homemade Caesar salad. Scott’s next day delivery policy after harvest has his lettuce and herbs freshness lasting up to three weeks.
Starting the greenhouse wasn’t without its hurdles. Scott is candid about the difficulties of launching a small business, but his advice is straightforward: “Don’t give up.” That simple mantra has guided him through tough times and helped Stony Run thrive.
As the Owner, Scott enjoys the ability to come up with new ideas and lead in ways that reflect his values. Recently, he’s begun to offer basil and other herbs into the greenhouse.
At its heart, Stony Run Greenhouse is more than a business—it’s a story of family, perseverance, and the power of growing something together.
